Hope's 2023 Winter Seasonal is a full and robust strong red ale, with a complex malt flavour coming from a blend of amber malts, rye, and a delicate touch of roasted barley. It pours a deep ruby red colour, with an off-white head. Toffee and caramel flavours dominate, backed up by a clean bitterness, which then develops into floral and fruity notes from the whirlpool hop, Challenger. A little alcohol warmth in the finish provided by the relatively high ABV makes this a perfect winter warmer ale.
